The municipality of Gründau conducts annually several senior events and trips for fellow citizens aged 65 and over.
The exact dates will be announced in the municipality's official gazette (Gründauer Bote) in good time before the start of the journey.
A „Mehrgenerationenhaus“ is located in Gründau, district Rothenbergen. The house is supported by the municipality and operated by the parent-child association „Kleiner Anton“ in Gründau. The midday meal is a special offer for seniors.
The multigenerational house is a meeting place for young and old, for women and men, grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, and the whole neighborhood to talk and exchange ideas about everyday life, to craft, do needlework, or play games, to participate in lectures, courses, and readings, and to engage in volunteer work.
Security Topic –> There is a security advisor for seniors in Gründau!
Unfortunately, older people are repeatedly victims of criminal acts. Perpetrators often exploit the kindness and helpfulness of seniors to enrich themselves. As a result, victims often shy away from going to the police because they feel ashamed or guilty. To counteract this and increase the sense of security among the elderly, the Südosthessen Police Headquarters initiated the prevention project „Safety Advisors for Seniors (SfS)“ back in 1996, which has since been expanded to all police headquarters in Hesse.
The „SfS“ (Seniors for Safety) are trained and educated by the crime prevention advisory office of the local police headquarters to inform the target group about relevant crime phenomena, such as „grandparent scams“ or „shock calls,“ behavioral tips, and prevention options. To this end, they give lectures (e.g., in clubs or senior centers), provide information at trade fairs and other events, or offer individual consultations. The „SfS“ volunteers their time, and their lectures and consultations are free of charge.
Bernhard Jäger is available as a certified „Security Advisor for Seniors“ at the municipality of Gründau. Mr. Jäger is a retired police officer with over 45 years of professional experience in various roles and police departments. .
