• Applying for naturalization for former German citizens living abroad

  If you live abroad, used to be German and would like to become German again, you can apply for re-naturalization under certain conditions.

• Applying for German citizenship as a foreigner with habitual residence abroad

  If you live abroad, have close ties to Germany, and would like to acquire German citizenship, you can apply for naturalization.

• Apply for reparative naturalization after revocation during the Nazi era for directly affected persons and their descendants abroad

  If you or your ancestors were deprived of German citizenship during the National Socialist era and you live abroad, you can apply for restitution by way of re-naturalization under certain conditions as part of making amends.

• Apply for a repetition of up to 300 teaching units of the language course

  Under certain conditions, you can repeat the language course once for up to 300 teaching units.

• Apply for a refund of the contribution (50 percent) for the integration course

  If you have successfully completed the integration course within 2 or 3 years respectively, you can apply for a refund of 50 percent of your cost contribution under certain conditions.

• Apply for admission as a late repatriate

  As a late repatriate, you can generally only be admitted to Germany if you leave your resettlement area as part of the admission procedure. Please note that you must generally submit the application from within the resettlement area.

• Apply for the subsequent inclusion of spouses and descendants in the late repatriate admission notice

  If you are a late repatriate, live in Germany, and still have family members (spouse, descendants) in the settlement area, you can apply for them to be subsequently included in your admission notice.

• Upgrading persons who entered via the reception procedure

  If you entered Germany through the admission procedure and did not receive status as a late repatriate (Spätaussiedler/in) or as an included spouse or descendant, this classification can be reviewed upon application.
