Report pension receipt to the Artists' Social Security Fund

Do you receive a pension from the statutory pension insurance? Then this has an impact on your insurance status in the artists' social insurance.

As a person with compulsory insurance through the Künstlersozialkasse (KSK), you can apply for a pension from the responsible pension insurance institution. To do this, you must meet the requirements.
The competent pension insurance institution will inform you about the exact requirements for a pension. After you submit your application, the pension insurance institution will review the requirements. Upon completion of the procedure, you will receive a notice regarding your application.

If you receive a pension, your previous compulsory insurance status with the Künstlersozialkasse may change:

• If you receive a regular statutory pension ("normal" pension), your previous compulsory insurance in the pension insurance ends. Exception: You explicitly request to continue paying pension insurance contributions.
• If you receive a full pension due to old age or full reduction in earning capacity, your contribution amount to the statutory health insurance is reduced. This is because, due to the pension, you are no longer entitled to sickness benefits.
• If you receive a full pension and change it to a partial pension, or vice versa, this can also affect your compulsory insurance and the amount of your contributions to the statutory health insurance.
   

You can notify the Künstlersozialkasse online or by mail about your pension application or receipt of a pension. The same applies if there are any changes regarding your pension.

Online message:

• Access the online form on the federal portal verwaltung.bund.de. This will guide you step by step through the necessary information, which you can enter electronically. 
• Note: For the online form, you will need your electronic ID document to log in. 
• You will need approximately 15 minutes to complete the online notification. 
• First, enter your personal details, including your insurance number. You can find this in the top right corner of letters from the Künstlersozialkasse.
• On the next page, you can choose the topic you would like to tell us about.
• With this selection, you will receive general information regarding the topic of "pension".
• Then you select your specific request and provide further details regarding it.
• If available, you can upload the required documents.

Notification by mail:

• If you have applied for a pension, please first inform the Artists' Social Insurance Fund of this in an informal manner.
• Submit a copy of the pension assessment notice to the Künstlersozialkasse as soon as possible. 
• For this purpose, fill out the PDF form "Notification of receipt of a pension from the statutory pension insurance" on the Künstlersozialkasse website.
• If you are already receiving a pension and your pension status changes, please inform the Künstlersozialkasse informally about the nature of the change. You do not need to report the (annual) pension adjustments.
• Please always state your insurance number as well. You can find this in the top right-hand corner of the letters from the Künstlersozialkasse.
• Sign your informal notification or the printed PDF form and attach the required documents.
• Send everything together to the Künstlersozialkasse.

Please answer any potential follow-up questions from the German statutory pension insurance scheme and the Künstlersozialkasse immediately. 
Upon completion of the procedure, you will receive a notification by mail from the Künstlersozialkasse.

Please inform the Künstlersozialkasse immediately about your pension application.
