Apply for funding for in-company training for people with disabilities who have full earning capacity reduction

Gültigkeitsgebiet: Bundesweit

Online erledigen

Quick info

If you are currently unable to work at least 3 hours per day due to your disability, but still want to complete a regular (initial) training program, you could receive funding through the Training Budget (Budget für Ausbildung).

Description

You cannot currently, not yet, or not yet again be employed on the general labor market due to the nature or severity of your disability, yet you would still like to complete regular vocational training? In that case, the Federal Employment Agency provides a training allowance under certain conditions, provided it is your competent rehabilitation provider.

One prerequisite is that you conclude a contract with a company for a social security-contributory apprenticeship in a recognized training occupation or for a vocational assistant training.

If you do not have a training position yet, the Employment Agency will, upon request, initially support you in your search for a (suitable) training position.

Only initial vocational training is funded, no further education or training.

During training, the following services are funded using the training budget:

  • The company will be reimbursed for the training allowance including the employer's share of social security contributions.
  • The costs for disability-related instruction and support at the training workplace and in vocational school will be covered.
  • If the school-based part of the training is conducted in a vocational rehabilitation facility due to the disability, the necessary costs are covered.

You can choose who supports you and organize the services yourself. Beforehand, however, the necessary scope of support is assessed and agreed upon according to your individual needs. You obtain offers and have technically qualified persons who are to take over your guidance and accompaniment describe how their support is to take place concretely. On this basis, your advisor decides and approves, for example, the amount of the benefit.

In addition, you are entitled to training allowance during the funding period. However, your training remuneration will be deducted from it.

You will receive the training budget for as long as it is necessary, but for a maximum period until the successful completion of your training.

If several people who are supported with a training budget work in the same company, they can also make use of joint guidance or supervision.

If during your training you find that you would rather receive services in the entry procedure and vocational training area in a workshop for people with disabilities or from another service provider, a switch is possible. The time spent under the budget for training will then be credited toward the duration of the entry procedure and vocational training area, if applicable.

Procedure

To receive funding for training, you must contact your local employment agency:

  • Schedule an appointment with the Vocational Rehabilitation and Participation Team at your local Employment Agency.
  • If you do not yet have a personal contact person, make an appointment via the service hotline of the Federal Employment Agency.
  • In a personal conversation, you will clarify together whether the training budget is generally an option for you.
  • Your adviser will also discuss the forms and documents with you that you need to fill out and submit. You can also fill out the documents online.
  • You submit necessary documents, for example, the rehabilitation facility's quote for the costs of the school-based part of the training or descriptions regarding who is to provide the guidance and support, how, and under what conditions.
  • Finally, your advisor will check whether the funding requirements are met, whether the training allowance is appropriate, and will make a decision on the submitted documents.
  • If the Federal Employment Agency is not responsible in your case, it will forward your application to the competent rehabilitation provider.
