Donate to the Federal Agency for Technical Relief

If you would like to financially support the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), you can do so by making donations to the THW Foundation or to the THW-Bundesvereinigung e. V.

The Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW), as a federal authority within the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and Community, is financed by taxes (federal budget).

You can only make donations for the THW via the THW Foundation or the THW-Bundesvereinigung e. V. .

The THW Foundation and the THW Federal Association are non-profit organizations. Your donations can therefore generally be deducted from your taxes. You can make both financial donations and donations in kind.

With donations to the THW Foundation or the THW Federal Association, you support

• the THW in the performance of its duties in national and international civil and disaster protection;
• Research projects and the cooperation of the THW with universities;
• Disaster prevention measures, including in the fields of environmental and nature conservation;
• the recruitment and retention of young people for the volunteer work of the THW.

You can send your monetary donations directly to the THW Foundation or the THW-Bundesvereinigung e. V., specifying whether you would like to receive a donation receipt. For material donations, it is recommended to contact the THW-Bundesvereinigung e. V. in advance.

You can donate to the THW Foundation or the THW Federal Association.

You can donate in three different ways:

• by bank transfer,
• or by direct debit
• to the THW Foundation also via PayPal.

Bank transfer:

• You can donate to the THW-Bundesvereinigung e.V. offline via bank transfer.
• You can also donate money to the THW Foundation online via the „Stiftung Technisches Hilfswerk“ website:
  • Look for the „Donate“ option. You can find this directly on the main page.
  • Specify Sofortüberweisung as the desired donation option.
  • Fill out the donation form and confirm it at the end.

Direct debit

• If you would like to set up a standing order for regular donations to the THW-Bundesvereinigung e. V. or grant the THW-Bundesvereinigung e. V. a direct debit authorization by fax or mail, you can do so using the conventional direct debit procedure (offline).
• For donations to the THW Foundation, you can also issue a direct debit authorization online on the website „Stiftung Technisches Hilfswerk“:
  • Look for the „Donate“ option. You can find this directly on the main page.
  • Specify the SEPA direct debit as the desired donation option.

Fill out the donation form and specify a desired cycle (one-time, monthly, yearly) for when the money should be debited from your account.

About PayPal:

• Go to the „Stiftung Technisches Hilfswerk“ website. .
• Go to the „Donate“ menu item. You can find this directly on the main page.
• Select PayPal as your preferred donation option if you have a PayPal account.
• Fill out the donation form and confirm it at the end.
• For the tax office receipt, go to the „Donations“ menu item on the website of the „Stiftung Technisches Hilfswerk“.
• Then go to the option „Request donation receipt“. Fill out the provided form and submit it.

• If you intend to make a material donation, you can do so as follows:
  • Schedule an appointment with your nearest THW local section so that the usability of your potential material donations for THW purposes can be confirmed there.

The THW local section will then put you in touch with the local THW helper association closest to you.

There is no deadline.

There are no costs.

Since this involves donations to the THW Foundation or the THW-Bundesvereinigung e.V., no authority is issuing a decision regarding the donors.
