Register on the crisis preparedness list for Germans abroad

Gültigkeitsgebiet: Bundesweit

Online erledigen

Quick info

Germans who are abroad can register on the crisis preparedness list of the Federal Foreign Office. This allows the responsible diplomatic mission abroad to make contact quickly in an emergency.

Description

If you are a German citizen staying abroad, you can register on the crisis preparedness list of the Federal Foreign Office (AA). This service is available to you if

  • You stay abroad long-term, for example because you live there, or
  • You are staying abroad for a shorter period, for example for tourism or business reasons.

If you register in the list, the responsible diplomatic mission abroad can quickly contact you in an emergency or exceptional case. You will then be provided with instructions and recommendations for your protection and safety, for example in the event of a natural disaster or military or revolutionary entanglements. These include, for example, behavioral instructions or information on assembly points.

You can register for the crisis preparedness list via the online service ELEFAND. Registration is voluntary and free of charge.

Procedure

You can register online in the crisis preparedness list:

  • Access the Federal Foreign Office's (AA) online service ELEFAND.
  • Register on the website. To do this, follow the instructions under the „Registration“ tab and enter your personal master data.
  • After registration, you will receive an activation code. You can then complete the online form with your specific travel dates, any accompanying family members, and emergency contacts.
  • Your stay abroad has thus been registered in the crisis preparedness list.
