You can participate in the preparation or amendment of a regional plan.

Description

In a regional spatial development plan or regional plan, the competent planning authority determines how the limited resource of space is to be used in a specific region.

As a citizen, business, or entity representing public interests, you can participate in the creation or amendment of a regional plan starting from the date of publication. Your participation gives you the opportunity to contribute to the planning process. In addition, you can view the regional plan publicly and submit a statement. You have at least one month from the date of publication to do so.

The regional plan can encompass various possible uses of the area, such as

  • Living,
  • Trade,
  • Traffic,
  • Infrastructure,
  • Rest and
  • Nature and environment.

The regional plan generally consists of:

  • Plan drawing with various maps and plans, for example
    • Zoning map with the spatial distribution of the area,
    • Traffic plan,
    • Map of environmental protection areas
  • Texts in which the following is stipulated:
    • Specification of development goals
    • Guidelines and potential regulations on
      • Settlement development
      • Infrastructure and
      • Environmental protection 
  • Justification with explanation of the background, goals and concepts
  • Attachments and expert opinions 

Procedure

  • From the date of publication, you can submit a statement on the planned or amended regional plan. This should be done electronically.
  • The competent authority collects and examines the statements. It then weighs the statements and decides on them. 
  • The competent authority shall take other private and public interests into account in the process. It shall publish the result of this balancing of interests.

Deadlines

At least one month from the start of the publication of the spatial planning plan on the internet. The deadline applies to both the general public and authorities and other bodies responsible for public interests.
