Quick info

If your company wishes to hire severely disabled people and those status-equals for a fixed term as part of trial employment, you can have your personnel costs reimbursed for a maximum of three months under certain conditions.

Description

Severely disabled people and those with equal status should be given the opportunity to prove their strengths and abilities on the labor market. With trial employment, you as a company can facilitate entry or re-entry into working life. During this time, all parties involved can try out working together in a fixed-term employment relationship for a duration of up to three months.

The costs you incur as part of this trial employment can be reimbursed by the Jobcenter. These typically include

  • wage and salary costs, including employer social security contributions and
  • other benefits based on statutory or collective bargaining agreements
  • Levies as well as contributions to the professional association

The competent authority is the Jobcenter in whose district the person you wish to employ on a trial basis has their primary residence or habitual abode at the start of the trial employment relationship. The Jobcenter is also responsible in the case of already existing employment relationships if the person you wish to employ on a trial basis receives supplementary benefits under the Second Book of the Social Code (SGB II).

Note: The Jobcenter is only responsible if it concerns severely disabled people or persons equated with them.

In the case of people with disabilities, the application must be submitted to the competent employment agency, provided no other rehabilitation provider is responsible.
