Notify the artists' social insurance fund (Künstlersozialkasse) of a change in the company's activities

If your company operates in a different industry or the company's activities change, you must inform the Künstlersozialkasse.

The Artists' Social Security Fund determines the levy obligation for your company based, among other things, on your field of activity.

If your company's field of activity changes, the Künstlersozialkasse must examine whether this change affects your obligation to pay contributions.

You can submit your request online or by mail.

Online message:

• Access the online form on the federal portal verwaltung.bund.de. This will guide you step by step through the necessary information, which you can enter electronically.
• Note: You need a valid ELSTER certificate to log in to the online form. 
• You will need approximately 10 minutes to fill out the online form.
• First, enter your personal information, including your submission number. You can find this in the top right corner of the letters from the Künstlersozialkasse.
• Following this, you will indicate which activities you currently perform in the company. If any activities have been eliminated in your company, please also report this in the form.
• If available, please upload proof of the changed activities.

Notification by mail:

• Please notify the Künstlersozialkasse of any changes in your company's areas of activity in an informal manner.
• Please include your submission number in your letter. You can find this in the top right-hand corner of the letters from the Künstlersozialkasse.
• If available, please attach a copy of the proof of the changed activities.
• Send the informal letter to the Künstlersozialkasse.

Upon receipt of your notification, the Künstlersozialkasse will review your information. Should there be any questions or if further documents are required, the Künstlersozialkasse will contact you in writing.

If the Künstlersozialkasse concludes that the change in your activities affects your liability to pay contributions, it will inform you of this.

There is no deadline.
