Report months spent abroad by statutory accident insurance employees

If your employees have worked abroad, you must report the duration to your trade association or the Unfallversicherung Bund und Bahn upon request.

The contributions for the voluntary foreign insurance are collected separately from the contributions for the domestic accident insurance. The basis for the foreign insurance contributions is the number of months your employees work abroad. Partial months are calculated in full.

It can happen that a foreign assignment ends prematurely, but the Employer's Liability Insurance Association or the Unfallversicherung Bund und Bahn is not informed of this. To ensure that the contributions can be calculated correctly, the Employer's Liability Insurance Association or the Unfallversicherung Bund und Bahn will ask your company whether the stored foreign assignment months are correct.

Here your company has the opportunity to correct in a timely manner the foreign months previously registered with the employer's liability insurance association or the federal and railway accident insurance.

• Access the online service. 
• You will be guided through the process on the accident insurance service portal.
• You can log in.
  • If you want to receive the reply from your statutory accident insurance institution in the inbox of your BundID account or Mein Unternehmenskonto, you must have an account and authenticate yourself.
  • If you would like to receive the answer by mail, you can also proceed without registration.
• Select your responsible professional association or accident insurance institution or find it using the industry search.
• Upload the required documents.
• Fill out the online form and submit it.
• Your report will be automatically forwarded to your trade association or accident insurance institution.
• You will receive feedback via your preferred method.

Online service Your employers liability insurance association or accident insurance fund:

• If you have access to the portal of your employers' liability insurance association or accident insurance fund, you may also be able to submit the report electronically there.

Message by mail:

• Contact your professional association or accident insurance fund with an informal letter.
• Pay attention to the required details and enclose the necessary documents.

Your company must report the foreign months within 6 weeks after the end of the calendar year.
