If you, as a manufacturer, supplier, testing body, or other authorized party, wish to test devices or components for digital two-way radio on a test platform, you can submit an application under certain conditions.

Description

The Federal Agency for Public Safety Digital Radio (BDBOS) is a federal authority within the portfolio of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and provides a testing platform for the digital radio of emergency services, such as the police and fire department.

Emergency responders from organizations with security tasks (BOS), such as the police or emergency services, communicate during operations via the BOS digital radio network.

On the test platform of BDBOS, you can as a

  • Manufacturer,
  • Supplier,
  • Testing facility or
  • other authorized persons can test their end devices or system components on-site in Berlin.

The test platform (BOS digital radio) maps the technical and functional properties of the BOS digital radio network. It enables you to test whether two-way radios function without interference in the BOS digital radio network or are interoperable with other BOS terminal devices.

The tests are conducted under laboratory conditions and in a spatially enclosed environment.

Due to security requirements, you must submit an application in advance for access to the BDBOS test platform.

The BDBOS will then provide you with a binding usage period. In doing so, the BDBOS will take your preferred dates into account as far as possible.

Procedure

You must apply for access to the BDBOS test platform online, by post, or by email to the Federal Agency for Public Safety Digital Radio (BDBOS).

Online procedure

  • In the online procedure, the online application assistant will guide you step by step through the application process. To do this, log in with your username and password via your organizational account.
  • Fill out the application electronically and upload the required documents.
  • You can then submit the application online to the BDBOS.
  • Should you meet the access requirements for the test platform, you will receive a notification of use with the binding test period by email or via the mailbox in your organizational account.

  • BDBOS is reviewing your documents and will contact you if there are any questions.
  • Should you meet the admission requirements for the test platform, you will generally receive a notification of use with the binding test period by email or via the message inbox in the organizational account, provided you consent to the online procedure.
  • If you do not agree to the online procedure, you will receive the notice of use with the binding test period by mail.
