• Apply for type approval of devices containing radioactive substances and installations generating ionizing radiation

  If you want to manufacture devices containing radioactive substances or systems for generating ionizing radiation that may be operated without a license or notification, you can apply for a type approval.

• Report high-level radioactive sources to the HRQ register
• Communicate master data of fuel price authority holders (PHI)

  If you are one of the price-setting authorities (PHI) for fuels, you have a reporting obligation to the Market Transparency Unit for Fuels (MTS-K). You must register there and provide your master data for this purpose.

• List of "Seed Treatment Facilities with Quality Assurance Systems for Dust Reduction": Apply for inclusion of a seed treatment facility

  You may only treat seeds with certain plant protection products if your seed treatment facility produces seed that releases as little dust as possible. If you operate a seed treatment facility, you are required to have your process technology, procedures, and documentation inspected.

• Lists of drift-reducing seed drills: applying for equipment testing and registration

  Seed treated with certain plant protection products may only be applied using drift-reducing seeders listed by the Julius Kühn Institute (JKI). You must have your equipment or conversion kits tested by the JKI if they are to be included in the lists.

• Apply for accreditation of radon measurements at the workplace

  If you wish to provide and evaluate devices for statutory mandatory measurements of radon activity concentration at workplaces, you must obtain recognition for this from the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS).

• Product information centers

  Pursuant to Regulation (EU) 764/2008, replaced by Regulation (EU) 2019/515, product contact points have been established throughout the EU for products for which there are no harmonized rules yet. 

• Apply for Authorized Economic Operator status

  As an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), you benefit from simplifications in customs clearance. To obtain this status, you must submit an application to your main customs office.

• Have terminal devices for digital BOS radio certified

  If you manufacture or distribute terminal devices for the digital radio of authorities and organizations with security tasks (BOS), you must have them certified.

• Apply for certification of modifications to terminal devices for the BOS digital radio

  If you, as a manufacturer, have made technical changes to a terminal device that is already certified for the digital radio of authorities and organizations with security tasks, compliance with the legal requirements must be tested again.
