Displaying the use of the organic label

Would you like to label your organic products with the German organic seal? Then you must register this with the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE).

All products bearing the German organic seal (hexagonal symbol) must be registered with the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food (BLE) before being placed on the market.

You can register your products for the use of the organic label online or in writing. Your registration is linked to the submission of your product labels / packaging layouts designed with the organic label. Following a successful review of your registration by the BLE, you will receive approval to use the organic label. Registrations can be made not only by German companies, but by companies worldwide.

You can notify the use of the organic seal online or in writing.

View usage online:

• Register your company and your product or products in the organic seal database at bio-siegel.de.
• The BLE will review your usage notification, and you will receive an email notification once your product or products have been approved for use of the organic label.

Notify in writing:

• Request the notification form from the BLE or download it from the website bio-siegel.de.
• Send the completed and signed notification form together with the product label or product labels designed with the organic label by post or email to the BLE.
• The BLE will review your listing and you will receive a notification via email, or by post if requested, once your product or products have been approved for the use of the organic label.
• The BLE will create an account for you in the Organic Farming Logo database, into which your displayed products will be transferred. So that you can manage your usage notifications yourself in the future, you will receive login credentials for your account in the database by mail.

The notification must be made prior to the market launch of the product labeled with the organic seal.
