You can submit anonymous tips regarding potential violations of antitrust law to the Federal Cartel Office and receive feedback on them.

Description

You can use the whistleblowing system (BKMS) to submit information to the Federal Cartel Office, in particular  

  • on illegal agreements between competitors,
  • concerning illegal agreements between supplier and buyers,
  • to the abuse of a dominant market position.

Your contact details will not be recorded, you will remain anonymous. Once you have submitted your tip, you can set up a secure personal mailbox. You can also use this mailbox to remain in contact with the Bundeskartellamt anonymously. This is generally very helpful for processing the case.

Procedure

You can submit your report online on the whistleblower system (BKMS) website:

  • Select the topic you want to provide information on, and then enter your information. This is done via a free-text field as well as specific questions with selection fields (Yes / No / No information). In addition, you can attach a file (Word, Excel, PDF, etc.) with a size of up to 2 megabytes (MB) to your report. Your contact details will only be recorded if you provide them voluntarily.
  • Once you have submitted your report, the Federal Cartel Office can retrieve and review your tip stored in the BKMS.
  • You will receive a reference number as proof that your report was successfully submitted in the BKMS.
  • You also have the option to set up a secure, personal mailbox after submitting your report. You can use this mailbox to communicate anonymously with the Bundeskartellamt. You choose your own username and password. Through the mailbox, you will receive feedback from the Bundeskartellamt, can answer any questions, and will be informed about the progress of the matter.
