Under certain conditions, you can repeat the language course once for up to 300 teaching units.

Description

Are you attending a literacy course or a course for individuals with low literacy skills and have you used up your individual hourly quota? Then you can repeat up to 300 hours of the language course once.

You must apply for the repetition of the 300 hours with the competent authority.

Procedure

You can submit your application for a one-time repetition of the language course online or by mail to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).

An authorized agency can also submit the application for you.

Submit application online:

  • Fill out the online application for a one-time repetition of a maximum of 300 lesson hours of the language course.
  • If you are also applying for an exemption from the course fees in your application, upload the required proof, for example of your receipt of basic security benefits.
  • Log in with your user account.
    • If you are submitting the application for yourself, confirm your registration using the online ID function of your ID card or your electronic residence permit with PIN, or your tax administration software certificate (ELSTER). Submit the application online.
    • If you are submitting the application as an authorized entity, confirm your registration using „Mein Unternehmenskonto“ and your ELSTER organization certificate. Submit the application online.
  • The BAMF is reviewing your application and will contact you if there are any questions or missing documents.
  • You will receive a written notice by mail regarding the approval or rejection of your application.

 Application by mail:

  • You can either fill out the form on the BAMF website or download it and then fill it out.
  • Print out the form and sign it.
  • Send the form by mail to the BAMF regional office responsible for you. If you are also applying for an exemption from the course fees in your application, please attach the required supporting documents.
  • The BAMF is reviewing your application and will contact you if there are any questions or missing documents.
  • You will receive a written notice by mail regarding the approval or rejection of your application.

Deadlines

You must submit the application before you begin repeating the course.
