As part of a Europe-wide network (EU/EEA), the Points of Single Contact provide business-friendly access to the administration. They provide information on the requirements for taking up and pursuing a business activity.

This is governed by the EU Services Directive and the EU Directive on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications. Deadlines for processing procedures depend on the respective procedure and can be found in the corresponding procedure descriptions. The deadline does not begin until all documents have been submitted in full.
The information services provided by the Points of Single Contact (PSC) are generally free of charge. However, fees may be charged in individual federal states for advice from and the bundled processing of administrative procedures via a Point of Single Contact.
