Notify the Künstlersozialkasse of changes in legal circumstances

If the legal status of your company changes, you must inform the Künstlersozialkasse. The change may affect your liability to pay contributions.

The Künstlersozialkasse determines the obligation to pay contributions for your company and calculates the amount of the artists' social security contribution.

If your legal circumstances change, the Künstlersozialkasse must check whether this change affects your current or future levy obligation.

Changes in legal relations are, for example:

• Change of legal form
• Transfer of the company to another person
• Admission or withdrawal of a person holding an interest in the company
• Transfer of company shares to another person
• Conversion by means of merger, division, transfer of assets, or change of legal form into another or additional company
• Dissolution of the company

You can submit your request online or by mail.

Online message:

• Access the online form on the federal portal verwaltung.bund.de. This will guide you step by step through the necessary information, which you can enter electronically.
• Note: You need a valid ELSTER certificate to log in to the online form. 
• You will need approximately 10 minutes to fill out the online form.
• First, enter your personal information, including your submission number. You can find this in the top right corner of the letters from the Künstlersozialkasse.
• Please specify below which change to the company you would like to report. If available, please upload proof of the change. 

Notification by mail:

• If you wish to notify us of a change in your legal form, the form "Change notification of basic data" is available for this purpose in the media center for companies and exploiters on the Künstlersozialabgabe website.
• Please fill out the form completely.
• Please inform the Künstlersozialkasse of any other changes in your legal status informally.
• Please enclose copies of proof of the change, if available.
• Send the completed form or informal letter to the Künstlersozialkasse.

Upon receipt of your notification, the Künstlersozialkasse will review your information. If there are any questions or if further documents are required, the Künstlersozialkasse will contact you by mail.

If the Künstlersozialkasse concludes that the change in your legal circumstances affects your obligation to pay contributions, the Künstlersozialkasse will inform you of this.

There is no deadline.

There are no costs.
